YuMe, a US-based video ad network and ad platform, has launched a full-screen mobile video ad unit called ‘YuMe Mobile Flip’ that they say represents an ‘industry first’. The Mobile Flip is designed to exploit tablet functionality and creates allows consumers to capture and retain ad messages on one “slate” – or view – of a tablet device or smart phone, and then “flip” to a second slate to interact further with the brand, but without having to actually leave the ad unit.

In a statement YuMe said the ad unit would allow advertisers to ‘enforce rapid retention and recall of details by consumers, motivate purchasing decisions, create brand favorability, and drive brand lift’. Advertisers will also be able to access predesigned brand engagement elements for creating call-to-action icons such as “Save the Date,” “Locate Us,” “Add to Calendar,” or “Call Now” reminders.
