The advertising world has always understood the value of placing society’s heroes at the heart of campaigns. But not all heroes are created equally, according to Lynx Apollo (or ‘Axe Apollo’ if you’re outside of the UK). The ad was created by Bartle Bogal Hegarty for Unilever who are running a competition where the prize is a chance to go to space — yes, real space — on a commercial space flight, with 22 places available around the world. Few brands understand the young male’s mind quite as well as Unilever, so rather than try and promote the fact that entrants could find themselves going to space, BBH stay on message and focus on the idea that going to space will get you girls.
