Theoretically this week’s Ad of the Week should really one of the much-hyped Super Bowl ads, but thus far the ads have been lame (and a little bit racist), unimaginative (and a little bit sexist), or simply fell at the last hurdle (Toyota had a great ad but then botched the ending). However, while Volkswagen’s Super Bowl efforts failed to shine, their marketing efforts in the Netherlands have been significantly better. ‘Das Hund’ was produced for Volkswagen by DDB and Tribal Amsterdam and the ad tells the humorous story of a Dutch dog that sounds like a car.
